"I Am Me"

Someone asked me the question, "what's the point of existence?". A question asked far too often, and usually as a result of situations that have little to do with reasons worth existing for; lust, reputation, financial worth, material items, and much more not worth two thoughts. Nevertheless, I answered the question: I don't believe there is a particular point or reason to existence. Maybe think of it as a book, a song, or even a movie. Your the author, the artist, the leading acting/actress. Where we often lose focus is when we don't feel like we're the director, the composure, the editor, and simply not in control; and when this happens, we usually become the consumer. We begin buying in to the ideas, beliefs, and opinions of others without even questioning whether we really agree, or even if it's sensible to have such opinions. Soon after this, we start questioning our own existence, after we've spent a life-time of living by someone elses ideas, beliefs, and opinions.

I'm new to this (blogging), and never really had much interest in writing a blog, as I didn't see the point, not to mention I was (or am) quite annoyed with the online community. It seems to be a place full of people substituting their real life, for a virtual reputation, one where the answer to every question is a google search a way, and you never have to be considerate of what you say, because your not in harms way. I believe for the most part, a large majority of those who spend a lot of time online have developed alternate identities, one's in which they use to escape whatever reality they refuse to face. This doesn't apply to everyone online, as you can usually tell the intelligent ones apart from the bunch; they're the individuals who don't curse or hate others simply for having different opinions or beliefs; after all, part of what makes up an intelligent being is being able to understand that different doesn't mean something is unequal or worth less than what your made of.

To wrap this up, my initial motive for signing up for a blogging account was to just have some place to spill my glass of thoughts, whenever my mind seems filled. Whether we like it or not, sometimes people just don't understand, and that's when writing comes in handy. Consider this an introduction to my empty journal.
